Hello, I bought myself a stereo for the Monaro but prior to that I purchased both a facia and an iso adapter for it online (so as to make the process nice and quick when it comes to installing, I know......what a dreamer haha). I went to install the stereo today annnnnd......car says no.

The ISO adapter I bought (despite being quite clearly labelled as Monaro VXR 2004 onwards) just doesn't fit, not matter what I do it won't fit (at the connection end to the car), I have included pictures below for reference. The blue connector is for DAB radio which from what I understand the Monaro doesn't have anyway. This item is listed as covering a few different Vauxhall cars but I can say with confidence that it isn't for a Monaro of any description.

The stereo is a Sony unit which plugs in but obviously can't save any settings etc because of the connection differences.

Here is what my Monaro has (obviously steel cage wouldn't be there)

Is there an ISO adapter I could pick up from Halfords that would fit does anyone know?
Also can anyone advise me on what to do about the two radio cables in the car? How are they connected?

I'm no expert and working from memory, but you shouldn't need an ISO adapter. I didn't - the monaro connectors are already ISO, as should be the cables that came with your stereo.

If it won't keep the settings then swap the yellow and red wires (there's often a break in the wiring on those wires so you can easily swap them). If you've gotten far enough to find this out then it sounds like you're most of the way there. I'm a bit confused by what you're saying.

What do you mean by radio cables? The aerials?

You may be confused by the steering wheel connectors (top socket in the photo you've just added) - unless you've got the bits to make that work I think you just ignore that.

I see, my confusion was that fact that I had purchased a harness adapter because I didn't know what was in there to start with. So your statement has cleared that up for me smile thanks.

What about the radio cables though? There are two ...

You don't need the lead the stereo will plug straight in the very wide ISO at the top is for the steering wheels controls as stated by the previous person.

The aerials? Pick one, or get a y-adapter to use both (I did, on ferret's recommendation).

Cheers mate, clearly I have over thought this but there is nothing worse than pulling a stereo out only to find out you need an adapter lol.

Yup, and on that note, consider installing wires for sub amp control and reversing camera (video and interrupt cable) if you think you'll do either at some point.

You need a PAC unit for the stereo controls.
