I have a scan of a print of an old family photo. The quality is awful - probably a mix of a low-res scan and poor quality source image. Is there anyway that I can pull back some detail in order to print it out again? My mother no longer has the original photo, or a digital copy. I have Adobe LR and Photoshop CC, although I hardly use PS at all, so don't know its true capabilities. Where should I start?
Thanks

Having seen what has happened to many other photos that were posted asking for PS help, I'm reluctant to humiliate my mother...biggrin

^ That's very good. Better than I achieved for sure.

I'd be amazed if anyone could do much more with it.

Cheers Morbid
Could you tell me what process(es) you used?
Is it OK to download from your Flickr page?

No problem. I separated out the three subjects onto different layers, adjusted levels as needed, flattened the image and then applied a bit of Gausian blur (noise reduction was not really doing anything!).

ETA yes, fine to download from Flickr
