Mazda on Top
They're Britain's most reliable cars
Discussion
Interesting that Nissan have plummeted since being subsumed by Renault..
Still, I suppose they'd have gone bust otherwise..
Edit:
Ah - sorry - dropped two places.. I was comparing this years position in this to their historical placings in teh top ten of the JD Power survey..

It doesn't seem right to base this sort of comparison on the average cost of warranty claims per policy. An expensive car will have far more expensive claims under warranty than a cheap one. This does not make it less reliable.
The average claims cost per policy should be normalised with respect to the cost of the car on which the policy is held. Expensive cars could then be compared with cheap cars.

Between three family members we have owned around 20 Fiats, standard, modified and lunatic. They have not rusted and have been very reliable.
My longest standing friend uses RR Disco's for everyday transport, sold first one to a friend at 140K and its still going strong, current one is two years old and has 70K on the clock, used both on and off road they have been unfailingly reliable and yet I understand the Disco is bottom of the poll.
Could it be that contented owners only reply to the poll if they think there is something to prove? I've never responded to one, has any other Pistonhead?
