Knowledgable PH audio experts, I am hoping someone can give me some suggestions for a reasonably priced audio solution for a little fitness studio project. The studio will not have any large machines, mainly open space in the style of a dance studio. Renovation has just started so in-wall wiring etc is an option.

I am looking for a clean sound with a nice level of bass, nothing too aggressive and it doesn't need to be anything fancy. There will also be a projector on the ceiling of this space so it would be good to have a nice sound for music videos etc. I did some research and the EV ZLX12P seemed to come highly recommended

Any ideas for setup or some ideas on what I've missed would be very much appreciated. smile

Main room space: 1,600sqft (square shaped space)
Floors: Polished cement with 80% of the area covered by gym mats
Walls: 3 x plastered brick walls
Windows: 6ft windows on the remaining wall with 6.5ft cement on the lower half of the wall
Ceiling height: 12.5ft

To give a very rough idea of the kind of open space see below.

The easiest way to do this would be with 100v line, public address system and speaker evenly distributed across the ceiling.

Alternatively if you wanted the option to split up the area into smaller groups with either different volumes or different spurces then you would go the more traditional amp and speaker route with some cleave but useable switching.

Happy to look into this further if you want to on me.

Will there be fitness classes? Aerobics etc? If so will they be using head mics ?

What type of ceiling, solid or will it be a suspended/tiled ceiling?

Thanks Vex, I very much appreciate the info and offer of help. I have limited knowledge of this, I just know how to hook up whatever components are to hand. The options available are simply staggering smile

The space will be used to host private classes so the music will only need to come from a single source and be required for the single space. The space has a supportive column and a short structural dividing wall (see my rough layout below) where two rooms are being knocked into one. Mirrors run the length of 4 walls and ballet barres will be installed on the same walls. The other side of the room with have a projector screen.

With the attached layout below, the question is which cost-effective system can get the job done and where would the speakers be most effective?

ETA: Megaphone, although classes will be restricted to small groups (8-10 max) having the option of using a headset would be handy. The ceiling is solid cement.
