f1 2014 and wheel use

I bought f1 2014 for my ps3 a few month ago and was using it with a logitech dfgt on an ironing board (hardcore) but I have since changed to a thrustmaster t300rs and a playseat challenge as I missed playing racing games. With the dfgt I noticed that I only needed to turn the wheel about 1/3 of the on screen distance and the pedals usually put full power at half a depression of the pedal. I noticed that someone the wheel settings where at funny levels and found it easier after that.

My current issue with the t300 is that when I occasionally mijudge a corner the onscreen driver countersteers for me. I'm getting pretty good at the game but I never noticed this before and I'm unsure if this is some driving aid that can't but turned off.

Let me know if I've not explained very well.

Just so you're aware;
Wheel is in ps3 mode
In difficulty all aids and assist are off with the exception of the driving line.

Hope you can help, I have a feeling it's part of it being more arcade than true sim
