That looks a bit scary. The Sag has a full roll cage and I *thought* it had side impact bars too but that door looks pretty stove in.
Just downloaded the picture and had a closer look. What I thought was the interior and the centre tunnel is actually a reflection on the door that's been shoved in, maybe those sidebars have worked to a degree.Looks like it's had a big side impact of some sort ouch, hope everyone's OK.

Not so good. Hopefully nobody is injured.
I wonder what happened?
I see the suggestion that someone might have opened the door, but the car appears to be on the wrong side of the road for the way the damage goes forward.
There is also damage to the nose.
I was wrong with that guess as a close look revealed that the door is actually still there just shoved in. I've seen on Twitter that it's been 'T'boned by a Prius Taxi of all things.I wonder what happened?

Hopefully all involved are OK.
Am I right in thinking that because it is a third party at fault it should be repaired to as good as new?
Unfortunately not. Insurance is all a matter of "reasonableness" in the eyes of normal people who DGAF about cars, so the fact that it is someone's pride and joy is irrelevant and the car will be repaired or declared a total loss in the usual fashion i.e. the ratio of repair estimate to market value. It doesn't matter who caused the crash - if the repair costs exceed the threshold against value the 3rd party insurer, if the 3rd party is indeed to blame, can write it off anyway as it's "unreasonable" for a car enthusiast to subject the 3rd party insurer to higher costs than the market value.Am I right in thinking that because it is a third party at fault it should be repaired to as good as new?
The only thing that can occassionally help when a 3rd party smacks your car and their insurance admits liability straight away is that they can settle in cash direct to you depending on lots of variables and circumstances. This can let you use the cash as you see fit and the car doesn't get any total loss markers against its history.
