DB9 Drivers Door Water Ingress
Discussion
Hi all,
Would appreciate any insight from anyone who may have experienced something similar.
In the summer, I had the door miirrors repainted by an AM approved body shop whilst they were fixing the legendary door 'corrosion' bubbles.
Subsequently, I noticed a developing 'damp carpet smell'. I checked all carpets etc. all of which were fine but I failed to find the cause and it continued to get worse.
I returned to the body shop to get them to check it out.
They dentified water ingress around where the drivers door meets the dashboard and after they replaced the seal around the mirror area.
After I got the car back, it rained and it leaked again. I took it back.
They replaced the cabin door seal. I recieved the car back just before Xmas.
Yesterday was it's first proper exposure to rain and the pictures below are the result this afternoon.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and have suggestions on a solution?
TIA,
Mark

If the door aperture seal is new, and the mirror seal, then I would suggest the door requires adjusting because water will only get in through a gap, and those seals should be compressed, making a watertight seal when the door is closed.
You need to take it back again and get them to have another look.
A gap would also give some wind noise too in that area although it could be muffled by the dash cloth trim.

I know you're right and I'll start the conversation with them tomorrow, however after the previous two ten day stints without the car, the joy of a Nissan Note in its stead, coupled with their inability to resolve it, my enthusiasm and confidence in them is very low. To be fair, I don't think they'll be that please to hear from me either.
Was kinda hoping that someone would pipe up with "that happened to mine... And it was X".
Cheers,
Mark
