instead of:

One Hundread and ninety thousand pounds only


Will the bank care? or does it read/mean the same to them?

Anyone who cannot write One hundred and ninety thousand pounds probably isn't good for that sum of money.

If the figure in numbers is also £190,000, then i cant see a problem.

I'd try cashing it first - why create a problem if it may go through just fine.

If you flag it up to the bank first no doubt they will say it's not acceptable.

FWIW if I write a cheque over a few thousand (very rare these days with internet banking) the bank always calls me to confirm the sum.

I get loads of cheques unsigned, amounts missing or wrong,written to someone else. Never had one back.
