Nitron shocks - Standard or Eibach Springs

One of my winter jobs is a suspension update. I’ll be replacing the shocks (currently Gaz Gold’s), Drop links and other parts if necessary.

Looking at Nitrons at the moment and there is the option of the Blue Nitron Springs or the ‘upgraded’ Eibach Springs. Just wondered if the Eibach springs were worth the extra cash?

The alternative seems to be the AST shocks, from Racing Green, anyone have these fitted as I haven’t really seen any reviews or comparisons to the Nitrons?

A spring is a spring...............but, Eibach has it's "lovers", and I expect lots of support will follow - you pays your money......8-))

I've both and let's face it, we would never notice the difference in performance.

Eibachs hold their form for longer, apparently but with adjustable platforms you can reset ride height after a couple of years if necessary so no bother.

I have Nitrons with slightly uprated springs ,I think 75lb more than the standard setup .

I would not turn my nose up at the Protech double adjustable dampers ,you can control the rebound .

I've got ASTs on but haven't had a chance to test them properly yet, just a few blasts to work and back. They originally sent 4 of the same shocks which was confusing, claiming the Chimaera had even weight distribution, but Neil Garner couldn't get the front end low enough. Racing green sent them 2 shorter shocks for the front and all is good now. Neil Garner commented that the fronts were softer than he's used to putting on, but living in Pembrokeshire and not doing track days I'd say they feel perfect for touring and having a blast on a country road now and again. The car certainly rattles less now.
