I am after a cheap head unit for my antiquated old cart.

Which would be best?

Alpine, Sony, kenwood, Pioneer or JVC?

Budget under £70 or so.

I fitted one of these.

I don't need a CD or bluetooth so I don't have to pay for features I won't use.

Sounds okay, easy to fit and only a few inches deep. I use it with a mini USB but it will also work with an ipod.

What features do you want? Double DIN or single DIN?

IMO Alpine are the best, but they aren't the cheapest.

Another vote for Kenwood. They have SD card, phone connections with a front facing USB for about £40.

I'm not sure you'll get all that for £40. When I fitted my Kenwood I couldn't find a budget unit with an SD reader.

Thinking about it you're correct. I used an SD card in a USB adaptor thingy.

Go Halfords. They usually have a Sony with CD/AUX/USB on offer for about £60.
