Golf R32 MK5 ?
not sure there'll be much in it in terms of performance, but it'll be newer, better sounding and imo, better looking!

Why no French cars? You can just about get into a Renaultsport megane 250, probably the best of the type of hot hatches you're looking at

Depending on how big your kids are and whether you like a bit of sideways action, how about a BMW 130i?

Seeing as you're coming from a Cupra R I'm presuming that you like straight line grunt.
How about a 3MPS?

I do like them. Never driven one but I like that they are powerful and a bit different from the norm.

I couldn't own a Renault after past experiences. Would consider a 3mps had the 6 MPs before was decent apart from heavy clutch. Was looking at focus St but prefer pre facelift looks

Shame as you're missing out on a belter there. What was the previous issue?

Otherwise golf R32?

Will a 2007 MPS be in the top tax bracket? Maybe a consideration

130i no brainer.

It spanks your Cupra in a straight line too.

Renaultsports are built in a different factory with completely different parts, they are different cars.
