Currently running a 02 Impreza STi that I have had from new but getting the itch for something newer. Used to have a 4.2 Cerb but then kids got in the way and went to the Impreza which has served us without any major issues over the 12 years we have owned it. I am thinking large engine, V8, ideally supercharged and I am leaning more towards the XFR and XKR as they tick the boxes, seem to be reliably and a decent dealer network. We do also have a E320 sport which is used as our work horse. The advantage of the new WRX STi is that its new, comes with a 3 year warranty and our local dealer is great we have never had any issues using them. The C63 is great looking car, decent seats but our local dealership is dreadful, nothing but problems when we have used them which puts me off the make. The GTR does not have a V8 nor supercharged but again can also be a decent family car but servicing at our local Nissan dealership would be expensive and using an indy like Litchfield would have to be an option ( 400 Mile round trip ). We have two kids 13 & 10 to throw into the mix. It would be used around town and on my 50 mile commute. Budget would be idealy no more than £35K, so for all other STi I would be looking at used. The other more extreme option would be a XKR-S.

Comment please…….

The C63 is vastly over-rated apart from its thunderous sound track. I had one before I went to the M6 with the V10 engine.

Are you going to buy outright, lease, PCP, etc?

I would suggest an F10 M5. It is the complete car you'll ever want.

You'll never get the kids in the back of a XKR!

Outright, unless there is a decent deal.

F10 M5 on 0% APR deals at the moment on a lease. Well worth checking out. As I said, it's all the car you'll ever need, gearbox is brilliant, ride, damping, power and even economy is 20mpg with nearly 30mpg on the motorway

Great lease deals on new M5's - around £3k down and £650 per month including VAT.

My issue with the M5 is the exhaust note / engine are too quiet, you can hardly tell that there is a V8 under the bonnet, still a fantastic car though.

C63 is epic and I have loved every single minute with mine. Watch out for pre-facelift cars which have seriously naff interiors.
