Hi guys,

My wife's 2008 Boxster seems to have sprung a leak as the drivers side carpet is continually damp, and interior of the windows get covered in bad condensation. I have checked the drainage holes below the bonnet and at the back under the hood, but these seem clear, and I can't find any damp patches on the door. Are there any other common places I can check?

Also, can anyone suggest anywhere in the Glasgow area that I could take the car for a check over if I can't get the the bottom of this? Don't want the electrics to get fried, and if it freezes things will only get worse!

Cheers

Check to see if the carpet over the cill is wet. If so, then its likely to be the door membrane.

Run your hand along the carpet at the bottom of the door. If it's wet it's a damaged door membrane. Not an expensive repair as door card off & on again should be under 2 hours plus part is about £60 from memory. Can't help with the garrage. Definitely get it sorted ASAP but wouldn't panic as electronics are under passenger seat (if it's RHD car). Blocked drain holes can lead to severe & sudden flooding but door membrane is more gradual. Good luck
