Jumping to unread is incorrect place

When I click the "go to unread" part from my stuff, it takes me to somewhere much later than what I last got to, but not quite up until present time.

For instance, the "weird occurences" thread, I've not read since yesterday, but it took me to 12:30 today with this link.

It's annoying, can it be fixed?

If you clear your cookies and start again, it should sort itself out...

I do that daily and it's messed up the next day.

Don't clear your cookes - and that will fix it

I will have a look in the database and see what dates it thinks you have last logged in... hold on.

So it is tracking 1782 threads for you at the moment, but not the one you linked to... Are these threads appearing in My Stuff for you too?

No, not in my stuff. I just see it in "whats new" and take a ganders.

ETA: I have had issue with topics in my stuff doing the same though.

ETA2: it darn gone done it again. Took me to 15:28 and I've read it more recently. In fact, my browser knows I've been to page 14, but PH thinks I'm half way down page 13.

Is the place it jumps to (ahead of time) consistent? Do some threads work perfectly? If so can you provide screen shot of examples.

These 4 all have done it. Seems to take me to ~13:40-13:44. I've not viewed any one of these topics today.

This is a strange one. I've posted after my last visit, according to PH. I have also read replies under my post, but it doesn't take me to them.

I've noticed it mainly screws up when I'm swapping devices. Sorts itself out after a while.

So, I've visited a topic several times today, onto the latest page, and every time it's taken me to the latest page.

I click the "go to unread" button on my "my stuff" page, and it takes me to the page before a few posts from the bottom.

It really needs a rework under the scenes to make it perfect... I don't have any resource to do that at the moment so it is something to live with for the time being.

Been working fine for me until today.

Last visited on Sunday, then at around 9pm today. Threads before 7pm today had the normal folder icon (not read).

It was around 7pm when I turned on my computer, which led me to think it somehow requested the PH page automatically. Now I notice that the forum has appeared on the Chrome new tab page's most frequently used list, along with a thumbnail, so could it have been that?

If that's the case, I seem to remember that Chrome sends some header if it's not the actual user that's visiting the site. It could be used to decide whether to update the last-updated value.
