last year (2014) we took our Caterham R500 to the excellent Sunday Service at the Autosports show at the NEC.

It was fantastic as it was an indoor event, so we could let the R500 dry off inside whilst we toured the halls!

So how come there is not the same type of deal this year?

The main show is only a few days away now, so I had hoped to see an announcement by now??

Having heard of last year facility I was looking forward to the same this year, but by the silence here Nigel I guess std public parking it is. Shame that the PH crowd who take pride in their ride can't assemble together with like minded individuals who respect each others paintwork when parking and manoeuvring. Lets see how the Lambo fairs in with the masses frown

Thanks for that, I did wonder if I was being ignored, but that just seems to be par for the course these days for me on piston heads!
It's a shame if they don't have it this year, it made for a great meeting place for all of us guys, and it's not often you get somewhere inside that's nice and warm to park your motor in a cold and wet January!

So guess I won't be bringing the R500 out after all this year then!

I think someone from P/H should comment on this, just so we all know what's going on I can't see the point of putting a Sunday service on the calendar and then no further mention of it

I agree, it was Nathan ( eybic ) who did all the organisation last year, so as one of the PH SS organisers I had hope to see. Something rom him as the man from PH!

Non official reply:
No PHSS this year, however there is a PH "pub"

Pub, now that's an ideal facility for petrol heads who wish to drive out to a car event! Secure spacious parking would be more of a draw to attend. I'll just drive a dented Lambo after a skinful at the pub home then /( strange priorities

There was another thread which stated that PH Sunday Service now needed to go to venues that were free. I would imagine that takes quite a few recent venues off of the list and after a few complaints about the availability of food and drink at one or two venues last year narrows the field even further.

Things appear to have slipped since Mr Garlick left the fold....................

As far as I'm aware, the Sunday Service venues have always been free?
Free breakfast is a bonus smile
Some venues may not want to host due to irresponsible driving by attendeesfrown

Eybic may wish to give offical line, though he's probably busy at the moment.

Indeed, I think you will find its a premium price, but of course it is a premium event too!

Although I suspect that does take it outside of the free SS PH ethos as well!

Sorry guys I didn't see this thread and was at the NEC last week.

I'm not sure why there has been confusion about this, there has never been a mention of a Sunday Service at the Autosport show this year merely a calendar to list who was attending on each day. We held one last year but we thought a better thing would be to have a physical stand rather than a hall to ourselves as we had complaints of no PH presence in previous years (If you weren't part of the SS, you couldn't see any of the cars).

@ Grey Ghost: I'm not sure how you can say things have slipped since Mr G left? We held more Sunday Services in 2014 than we have ever held before with a larger spread across the country and new venues. We have had giveaways of tyres, driving experiences and other goodies at Sunday Services which we haven't had before so surely event wise things are better now than ever before?

The main thing for Sunday Services is that they are free for us to attend and this has always been the case since PH was created, there are rare times when this is not the case (Vulcan bomber for example) but 99.9% of our events are free to attend.

Fair play Nathan. I know a lot of work goes into all these shows and events, lots behind the scenes that we don't see. Keep it up.

Having been to both, I think the PHSS last year was better than the pub this year.

I agree with all of what you say. However, I was a little surprised to see 3 SS in approx 3/4weeks last year. I would like to see them more evenly spread out. Also, regards not charging for SS, it remains a brilliant ethos which does PH and the venue providers massive credit. However, the Vulcan SS (charged) would be better located in the calendar any time other than where it is this month!! Ie before January payday (for most) after Xmas! I realise that most PHers are Multi millionaire CoDirectors, but some are not and putting this event on other side of January payday or further into the year would have been a nicer touch.

Thanks for commenting thumbup

We too were surprised at the frequency towards the end of last year, I think we had 6 in 8 weeks (with a couple of PHers attending every one) We were lucky enough to be contacted by some cracking venues towards the end of the year wanting to hold events so we took the gamble and ran with it, they went really well. This year is a little different as we have (at the moment) 7 of our 12 (at least) planned venues for 2015 confirmed in terms of dates and activities which is great as it lets us plan other things around them and space them out better for more of you guys to attend.

I think there will always be people that for one reason or another are unable to attend events and the Vulcan trip is not exempt from this. It has however had over 110 people (of a 200 capacity) sign up so will certainly have raised a lot of valuable funds to keep it airborne.

Certainly I have no objection, to a donation on a SS, to support something as worthy as the Vulcan smile
