What Porsche would you buy now with your own money £45k

SO many posts about different types of Porsche being better than the other got me thinking.

Lets say you all have £45k in your bank account and you must spend it on a Porsche before the end of January.

You must use it at least 5 days per month, every month of the year and cover a minimum of 5k miles pa.

Take into consideration running costs and NOT resale value as you're never allowed to sell it or carry out any modifications unless bought as such.

To me the 997 Carrera S in generation 2 format is the ultimate affordable, everyday, exciting super car. You can enjoy a trip to Europe without breaking down or worrying about the mileage. It's comfortable and still exciting on country roads. It also qualifies for Goodwood Supercar Sunday if you like that sort of thing. Running costs are low, however road tax is high and the engine noise could be improved slightly. I'd give this car a 9/10 for a fun and potential daily driver.

If a 997 is 9/10 for fun then the 993 is 19/10

Agreed, good choice, but the 997.2 makes most sense when used as an every day car IMO.
There are possibly more interesting options if only being used 5 days a month.

99% vendor would take £45k for this. OP's shout difficult o beat but this just pips it IMO. This on the basis of one Porsche only.

5 Days a month is extremely low. A car can degrade if used so infrequently. Why pitch it that level. I think twenty days a month is more relevant to anyone who uses their car fully.

If it's a daily, the newest and greatest I can get for 45K. I'm not that familiar with prices in UK but hopefully I'd get something like a 997 turbo? Have 991 Carrera's slipped to that yet? If they have, I'd go for one of them in a flash.

For a toy - I would even spend the full 45K. Would you get a retro back dated SC for that money? Something to pose in? Actually I don't really want a toy. I like driving too much.

Yes it should say daily

It does say a minimum of 5 days which takes it past a once a week outing. Don't think cars go bad if you use them once a week
