Difficult to say, but it will increase the safety of the car.
My cage is a full 10 point with door bars and leg protection, custom made as no of the shelf solutions are available. And with limited space in the cabin, is it an art to make a full cage. A normal 4 point roll bar will be a good alternative for the street

My road car loop, I extended the top rear rails, welded in square section verticals from the top to the exising bottom rails.
Welded on drilled and tapped pads to the top section for the loop to bolt to with matching clearance hole pads, can be fitted and removed from inside the cabin.
It need reshaping/reprofiling to match the roof line better, as it is in this picture it interferes with rear view, which I got around by fixing an additional rear view mirror temporarily.

A word of warning, I ran my car for 25 years without a problem, I fitted this and wrote it off.
Cant say I noticed if it reduced chassis twisting under load, but I suppose it must add some strength.

Difficult to say, but it will increase the safety of the car……If you use it with a 4 / 5 point harness and crash helmet
But imagine a side impact on a TVR....

Mr V has said to me that fitting the roll bar to the Gredge was the best mod he had done - better than the 500 engine he fitted!
I want to fit one to Samy as part of the repairs.
Sorry to ask but what's the Gredge and Samy?I want to fit one to Samy as part of the repairs.

I don't know why we tolerate these people!
The Gredge is Jack Valiant's 500 powered Wedge as linked above. Unfortunately, suffered a knock whilst waiting at a petrol station. Currently awaiting paint in a secret location.
Samy is my S - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Currently waiting the ok from the insurers to go and get repaired.

I believe there was a TVR owner a few years ago whose passenger was tragically killed by hitting their head on the roll-over bar during an accident.
The car rotated, and was travelling backwards, Victoria was scooped up and travelled the few inches upwards and was killed by the roll cage prior the car bursting into flames, John was scooped up, and travelled less as he was taller, although injured (life changing) got out and went back in for Victoria, braving the flames, not knowing that she was already dead. Race cars only, with harnesses fitted and worn 100%..as I am proof of the damage (or my stomach is, bearing the scars, having had two operations from not wearing harnesses correctly in an accident!) that it can do....all in IMHO

Arthur, I noticed that your chassis is missing the mounting points, behind the seats, that connect (indirectly, through the door lock) to the door intrusion bars, in my car. Were they deleted, or were they never there? Best,
Bernard
