C63 / AMG owners - Ever not smile when you start it up?
Discussion
Hi,
Just got a C63 and have to say it's pretty incredible. Had a WRX before and an R32 but this is lovely
Does anyone not grin like a 8yr old every time they start it up?
I liked clarksons review of it too. He said the best things are when you live on the edge, and with the c63 when you arrive at your destination it's a relief to have made it

I think we're all in your camp there Dan. I've had mine six months and I still can't start her up without the door left open. My wife has not noticed this quirkism...yet.
I now have the Miltek secondary cat delete and the start up is even better. In this cold damp weather we're having you get little the odd little crackle as well.
I was very pleased that when told by our SLK200-owning neighbour that our car was certainly a lot louder than his Mercedes, I was very pleased to hear that my wife reported back that she'd replied "That's because ours isn't a Mercedes, it's an AMG".
Immensely proud.
...ignoring of course the fact that it is in fact a Mercedes-AMG!
Welcome to the club, an excellent purchase.

I bought mine privately 2 days before christmas - not using it much for the commute but am very much still smiling and I leave the door open to start it too! Did start it on Wednesday when it was covered in ice and did shudder a little at the thought of such a cold start but it sparked right up and burbled away while i di-iced. Very nice. Admiring glances stares from my neighbour over the road as he gets into his Transporter or A3! The only thing tainting the start-up experience at the moment is the "b-service due in xx days" notice..
Yep always enjoyed mine. The colder the temp, the louder the exhaust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMrF_sVd32I
Smile every time. Had mine a few months now and just love everything about the car. This is coming from a BMW fanboy who spent the last 10yrs buying M Cars and performance BMWs.
Gets a lot more attention and stares than any other car I have owned, especially at the petrol stations when you fire it up to leave.
