Bulk order - oil pressure senders

I have found a guy who stocks the OEM oil pressure senders for Griffs / Chimaeras, at slightly better prices.
The failure of these little senders seem to be a regular topic on here.

Anyone interested in putting together a bulk order with me to get the price down?

Only point to remember is there are a number of different 'Original' types mainly depending on what make gauges you have fitted, and depending on whether your car is a Monday, or Thursday car, and if it was Bob or Dave's shift that put yours together

I totally agree. My 4.5 W reg Chimeara is fitted with a sender that has only one (spade type) electrical connection and is gold in colour.
When ordering a second replacement as the first one supplied leaked oil(?) I was sent (by a company who should have known better) a similar item with two connections this one was grey in colour?

I was told that this item was listed as an oil pressure sender for both Griffith & Chimeara, but I assume they mean for earlier series engines?

Guys, thanks, yep you're totally right to be cautious. I've had the same trouble with other parts.

However, this company are familiar with all of the types supplied for Chimaera and Griff and I actually supplied the part no. stamped onto the bottom of my sender unit which they matched up.

Mine is also a single connection type (my car is a 97 Chimaera 450).

The 'bulk' order can comprise different types and as long as we all supply the type of car and ideally the number stamped on the base (just to make sure) I understand there should be no mix ups.

Any chance of you getting the code stamped on the bottom of it (i.e. side facing the road).

the gold single terminal ones are the easy ones to get hold of though .. it's the earlier twin terminal ones you should be hunting out ..

I bought 3 of the last 10 that the maker had .. he wouldn't let me have any more of them cos they were not going to be produced again and he wanted to keep some!

Land Rover make a twin terminal one.
I will enquire with this chap as well.

Just had this response from the sender dealer:

He does stock a sender for the early Griffiths and V8s that used Stuart Warner gauges, have a single terminal and are shaped "like a church bell"

He doesn't hold stock of the sender for the black bezel gauges but can probably acquire if necessary.

Final word on this is:

We're down to a 25% discount from the supplier for the order.

That makes it 37pounds per sender, regardless of the type.

Any more takers before the order goes in?
