997 C2S or 996 Turbo for that money. XKR much nicer place to be than both of these as a dd in terms of cosseting interior and ride quality.

Get a 996 Turbo and mod it. For about £50k you should get something pretty rapid.

Yes that 997T is nonsense.

alleged performance figures
996T is 4.2s 0-60 officially*. Proper job.

997C2 all sub 5.4 or so, but differ in ads probably because they are different: between C2, C2S, manual, tiptronic, pdk, targa etc. Or vendors who just guess.

  • *Received wisdom is that Porsche underestimate their figures. Generally magazines tests have found better numbers than those quoted by the factory. Which is one of the many cool things about Porsches. smile

All Carrera's from the 996 onwards can easily crack 0-60 in under 5secs all day long.

Lol..996TT02...... How's the torque on these I know there lighter than steel bodied Xkr , but she'd loads torque ,I had a 10 reg m3 420 ggs out the gate I'd give it the edge but once rolling Xkr pull by no trouble ..never really looked at Porsche b4 ..

You won't be disappointed with a 996 turbo. Map, intercoolers and exhaust gives you 550bhp and 0-60mph 3.5 secs. 0-100mph 7 secs. 0-186mph 35 secs = rapid

M3 would look like its going backwards lol

If I was looking for breathed on 996 turbo. This would be the one I'd buy. Wouldn't want to pay more than £30k for it though subject to an inspection. With 600bhp it will be rocket ship and even quicker than the stats I quoted. People do not like buying modded cars so this ones been for sale for a while now.

Personally wouldn't consider a Turbo at 20k price range, 25k you might get a decent one, get the best you can, push the budget a little more if going for 996turbo and get a really good one which will probably be less hassle in the long term.
