Recommended Presentation skills training in SE/London

Hi all,

I've been asked to source some presentation training at work, however having been to various training sessions and courses in the past I know that they can vary greatly in quality, so I'd like to ask the powerfully built directors of PH if they can recommend any providers?

My employer will happily pay for a quality course but I want to avoid wasting their money. Putting 'Presentation skills London" into Google yields plenty of providers but there is no way of sifting out the good from the bad!

Any recommendations appreciated!

These guys, not cheap but one of the best in the business. They ban the use of Powerpoint. If you want Powerpoint presentation skills go elsewhere. I have personal experience of them.

In my last company where most staff were often required to get up on the feet and present to a variety of internal and external audiences we used a communications coach. Again like the previous poster this person discouraged the use of powerpoint and focused on the art of personal communication using a very structured approach. The bottom line is that they taught us to present in a conversational style which is more effective in getting messages across than pointing at slides and lecturing. Often you'll find that the good coaches have thespian backgrounds. In this particular instance the before and after comparison was quite scientific. At the start every delegate delivered a 10 presentation in the routine format and the audience, who were not allowed to take notes, had to recount the key messages. Then two days later, after the presentations were re-structured and new style understood, the exercise was run again. The audience recall rate was substantially improved, in some cases by many multiples.
