I'm searching around looking for a set on small budget of around £30-£40.

Amazon has brought up various RHA models - are these any good?
I'm no audiophile so am not bothered about high-end sound quality - it's the noise cancelling aspect that is of most interest to help make my train commute slightly less unbearable.

Any recommendations for brands/models at this level?

Thanks in advance.

Brainwavz, Soundmagic and Meelectronics all stand for really good sound at a very affordable price.

I have no experience of RHA but I've heard good things about them.

I used to use active noise cancelling AKGs, but they died after 8 months or so due to fragility. Went to "passive" noise blocking Sennheiser MM30i - had them over two years now, working perfectly still, and block out enough noise that I don't have to hear my fellow passengers on the train.

I think you mean noise isolating rather than actual active noise cancelling.

What's important is the earbuds, I use Shure Olives and they fit on most headphones (although you may need to "de-core" them).
