After a whirlwind of a recruitment process I've gone from last year moving to the South of France then resigning myself to being stuck in the UK (see previous thread for what winter car!) to having an opportunity to move with my company to Northern Germany (Bremen).

Now I don't know what to do about a car .... I don't want to spend 3-5 years without driving but the citys public transport is brilliant (heresy?!) and take you to the door of where i will be working.

So the question is...

Work will cover up to two trips a year home, whether it be flights or a road trip (hotel included); my partner has only just past her test and we quite fancy exploring as much of the continent as possible whilst we have the chance!

Now i was thinking RR or RRS but not being fluent German i don't fancy the hassle of buying a used car and we are going to save money to get a nice farmhouse / barn so leasing a new RR has been struck off by sensible head / other half.

So it begs the question, what reliable, nice to drive LONG distance newish car could i get?

I'm thinking 300 euro p/m or a purchase price of up to 20,000.

A / C / E class ?

TT/TTS

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 series

I don't know lease prices in Germany but i do think we have a corporate agreement with MB.

Anyone have any experience of living in Germany?

Sorry for the essay!
