Hi all,

I just wondered if someone could help me? I have a Land Rover with an immobiliser on it that I would like to be disabled. Has anyone got any ideas how/could do this for me??

Thanks smile

Further info would be required but I would suggest you will need the services of an auto electrician or an auto locksmith to help you further, locksmith if you cant find the immobiliser key, leccy if you want the system removed.

Is it aftermarket or original equipment?

I had an aftermarket one on a Senator years back (the plug in type) what a PITA it was but it took a good auto electrician a fair few hours to cut it out of the system and make it all good.

If it's Original Equipment and linked to the ECU (coded) I reckon that might require some re-programmning

What in God's name is that photo?!

It has a code thing, not sure if it's original. I want it removed/disabled because it keeps malfunctioning and it's annoying the hell out of me!

I don't know enough about LR's to comment on if original or not - key pad type imobilisers to me sound Aftermarket but like I said don't know enough

Does it look like any of these

First posts eh? Sounds dodgy to me. Are you attempting to steal one/many?

These things are usually pretty hard to disable because if they were easy you would get your car nicked all the time, like in 1995.

Sounds like a main dealer or Land Rover specialist job to me.

Yes it's my first post and no of course I'm not attempting to steal anything. I do hope you weren't being serious.

Come on, someone must know how I shut the bloody thing up! As for pics........I don't even know where it is, much less how I'd get any photos.

Is it an early freelander petrol?

If so it might be the K series one built into the ECU

If it has a seperate thingy attached to the key ring it will be an aftermarket one which a competent auto electrician should be able to remove and disable it with a hammer

Need some more details..
I'm assuming from the above that the alarm is sounding - can you get access in to the car? Do you have the ignition key?

What Land Rover is it?

BTW what do you mean that you don't even know where it is?

I'm confused

Yes it has a keypad thing. It was on it when I bought the car but I don't know if it was original or not.

I have no idea where it is......it isn't obvious. Yes, I have the ignition key, it just goes through periods of time making an alarm type noise when I start the engine.
