diff bushes

Hi does anyone know if the bushes on the power flex website fit in the early diff with the fin cover?

As far as I'm aware, they are all the same.

I used these last year.

Rear one does (the important one!), but the side ones have different fittings and nothing to hold the bush from sliding fore/aft in most cases with the GKN (it's actually a chassis variation not exactly parallel with GKN-BTR). So YMMV....

The top mount is fine the side one's need the metal sleeve machining down a little. I changed mine on my 1995 chassis last year.

I changed mine on a 95 and a 99 car and both fitted perfectly..........

AFIK there are a least 3 chassis variations, and the very early cars have nothing to stop the poly bush sliding off its bearing.

ie no encapsulation to hold the bush on the bearing and so the bush goes walk about down the chassis tube (only the same dia as the bearing) leaving the diff hanger behind clanking around If you don't stress the car it might sit together happily for 1000's of miles... If you want to be safe make sure the poly bushes are fully retained just like they are when you have to force them in between the wishbone mounts. This is not a problem with the original metalastic bushes as they have the rubber bonded to the bushing. You can engineer various solutions, but IMHO its no problem putting metalastic bushes in the diff side carriers as they are easy to get in & out and take to have pressed out/in.
