You might want to give some reasoning, otherwise it just becomes a list of cars.

Fiat Bravo HGT.. because I look back fondly to mine, straight 5 cylinder engine sounded brilliant, was thoroughly reliable and because it and I shared many great drives. Of course I haven't driven many (any) other hot hatches but this is definitely the best.

Of course it is, and was the best.

Clio Trophy for me, always had a soft spot for the 5 GT Turbo as well.

106 Gti.

- Handled as well as the 205 but with a little less chance of death if lift off on a bend.
- Well enough equipped that a cross country journey was acceptable for up to 4 people
- A great design that still looks pretty fresh today.
- So many different colours that each one stood out in it's own right (Sundance Yellow and Cherry Red being the best!)
- Giant killing performance in their day, 7.4 seconds to 60mph and a top speed nearing 130mph in something that small in 1997 was impressive.
- Excellent fuel economy, 35-40mpg normal driving and 50mpg possible on a run.
- Huge tuning ability later in their lives, gaining 20-30bhp is easily done and puts them right on par with newer more powerful cars.
- But most importantly there is nothing FWD that gets close for fun factor. 99% of people that drive will say it is the most fun car they have driven and in a hot hatch that says a lot!

I'd personally find it difficult voting for a car I've never driven, that was brought out before I was born...

T'was in the passenger seat of a somewhat-modified red Evo 2 that I went the fastest I've ever been on public roads.

From what I recall - it had a dose of 1970's Porsche-itous!,ie, if you went for it in a tight bend and over did the throttle, you ended up in the hedge, ditch, wall or what ever!

"The car is all the more remarkable for the fact that Renault needed a second go to get it right - the first version famously proving too wayward in the wet for some buyers." wink
