I've been thinking and thought it would be good to do a detailed video on how to properly wash your car since its coming up to that time where most girls who put them away and the men types that have been using them all year, will be washing them more often and i thought i would show you what to use and when.

This will be aimed at people who want a thorough wash, but also will be realistic in what people are most likely to do. I will explain what tools to use and what chemicals etc. I won't favour any one manufacturer and you are free to use what you like, but this is what i have found to work the best.

Thoughts?

One thing i won't show you is claying the car, as this will just lead to everyone making a mess of your cars.

Go for it Paddy! I think most of us THINK we know how to wash a car properly, but actually, we don't.
I'm interested anyway.

Sounds good to me. If you need a demo car to do it on then you are most welcome...

Go for it Paddy! I'm sure it would be much appreciated on this forum.

Definitely use an Aston, and for added effect consider using a Bond outfit. It may enhance future marketing opportunities.

Pussy Galore would probably be best.

A video would be a good and welcome idea.

One thing I've been meaning to ask:

I use a foam cannon and it creates lots of wonderful thick suds. However,, when it comes time to rinse the car, the same soap continues creating more and more suds on the ground below and around the car. It takes forever to dilute it enough to wash it down the driveway. This seems pretty wasteful of water. How do you guys deal with this?

to be honest, once I've foamed the car and done various stages of decon removal and rinsing off, there isn't much left lying around, so i leave it and it dissolves.

Yeah, but then the next time it rains, it reactivates the suds on the driveway. LOL

I think it would be a great idea and volunteer my car too smile

Maybe a series.. Quick wash, deep clean etc... (I recon I could get a summer of clean cars!)

My sisters bought me the 'official' Aston waterless cleaning kit... I think I might try it on the lawnmower rather the car as I'm not convinced

Yes, of course.

The snow foam I use (Honeydew from Chemical Guys) recommends mixing 2 fl oz with enough water to completely fill the cannon's reservoir. Of course, it is best to fill with water first and then add the soap. Adding the soap first would cause it to foam up and make it difficult to fill the container.
