Looking to do a road trip in May thru Europe ending up in Monaco.Going to be 20 cars.Hotels .itinerary etc being sorted and will have to put some stickers on the car.I I rang Admiral my insurer and because its 'organised' my insurance does not cover me.Have emailed the organiser who is coming back to me with options but wondering what experience or recommendations re additional cover there is.Have tried to search for threads etc but no luck. What I don't understand is if say you organise a Sunday drive out with say a few cars does that cover you insurance wise as it is considered an 'organised event ?? Admiral did ask about if using advertising /stickers which I'm guessing may not help.

Change insurers. Sounds like they want an extra top up premium.

They don't know how you are going to drive on an organised event. Ie you could drive sensibly on the trip and then get back and drive like you stole it and you are covered !! Doesn't make sense

They have been watching too many Gumball rally videos

I'd be inclined to read your policy and understand what is and isn't covered. If it's not clear, ask them to put it in writing, and clarify under what section of your policy excludes such a trip

Can't see how they refuse to cover a privately organised holiday !!

Are they trying to say, that if you and a mate arranged a trip to the seaside in the UK, they won't cover you ???.

You may have just spoken to a bell end at the Ins Co !

All you need is european cover! They can't stipulate they won't cover an organised trip, if it's a Gumball style thing they still cover you and the local police will manage any issues.

Exclusions state the norm.i.e. competitions, track days ,speed tests etc Going to clarify exclusions speaking to someone else as guessing person I spoke to may have mis understood.
I cannot see any reason why its not within the standard cover.

I have read that Monaco isn't covered for some reason on UK policies? Maybe this is the problem?

PM a mod to move this to GG, or SPL as there is an Insurance industry guy on PH who may then see this and explain?

Monaco is a special territory of the EC, so would be included. Are you getting confused with Andorra, which generally needs to be named?
