Evening all.

Just treated myself to a Play5 and what a gem it is smile.

Just trying to work out the best place and way of 'mounting' it.

It seems to sound better in the far corner of the room from where we normally sit (so you get a better distribution of sound) and high up so the sound doesn't bounce of the furniture. At the moment, though, it's on top of a 7 foot high sideboard which doesn't have a particularly solid top. The Sonos unit seems to be robust enough though that the sideboard doesn't vibrate. Is it worth fitting a sturdy shelf in the corner just for the Sonos?

That's only really for a Play1 not a Play5. It might work but seems to put it flat on the wall, whereas I want mine to be in the corner (at 45 degrees to both walls).

Apologies got carried away

These flexon ones do allow for the play 5 to be fitted in the corner as i have installed some before.

Depending on your preferences you may find it sounds better/worse if you change location.

its current location suggests :-
- you are out of the speakers sweet spot
- big box likely to be muddying/enhancing the bass

on the wall its likely the bass will be reduced but much tighter
