Online SVA and MOT details/requirements?

The tester's manual is available to read at the site above but the full current SVA manual isn't available as far as I am aware. There is a draft version available here but there are some sections missing:

I would say that all the £37's add up to a tidy sum so a PDF version is unlikely

I wonder if a Freedom of Information request would result in a PDF....

I could possibly, kinda-sorta, maybe coming your way, and thought about bringing over some of Detroit's Finest, and wanted to know about what type of inspections and tests were involved to get a Yank Tank on the road.

It's usually easy, if it's more than 10 years old then it just needs an MOT (ie. adjust headlamps, add fog lamp, and add amber indicators), it it's newer than that then it needs and SVA, which is also possible to do yourself if you have the SVA manual.

An On-Line MOT? Great idea! How do I apply for one?

I did know of a great service where you sent a photo of your car and a cheque for £30 to a certain address, and they would send you back an MOT certificate, but this sounds like it's several stages improved.

Do they supply the certificate as a PDF so you can print it out on your colour printer?
