Unusual place to spot a BTCC race driver.

I'm bit of a music fan and get along to quite a lot of rock gigs, mainly trying to relive my misspent youth of the 70s. We headed along to the Stables in Milton Keynes last night to the Classic Rock Show. Up on stage playing guitar, and doing a very good job, was ex Formula Ford champion and BTCC driver James Cole.
The band, along with Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd, are managed by James' dad Chas. after the show I went and found James for a chat, he's still hoping to compete in BTCC this year but is doing the 17 dates with the band and was heading off down to Tunbridge Wells for tonight's gig.

The infamous Mr Plato thread. In this instance James was very polite and quite happy to chat unlike another BTCC driver in previous years when confronted by another Pistonheader.
To be fair, that guy did come across as a nutter.Edited by BarryP on Thursday 15th January 17:15
I have shared a petrol station forecourt with Mark Donohue (black 911)and Warren Hughes(MG something ) ; queued next to Tom Pryce for a coffee and somehow have managed to contain my shock that drivers buy petrol and drink coffee. But I will confess to being star struck when I encountered the late Penske driver and CAn Am god
I had Stefan Johansson read a copy of Autosport over my shoulder on the Tube some years back - I was reading a story about Stefan Johansson!
Shared a lift down to the car park at St Pancras with James Thompson
Found myself sitting next to an ex British GT driver on a flight from Orlando, an ex Le Mans mechanic on flight to Tokyo and an FIA GT team manager on a flight to Stuttgart, none of whom were travelling to do with anything ref motorsport.

I once saw someone who I believed to be Guy Smith in a supermarket in York. I only recognised him because I'd once photographed him receiving an award and he'd started following me on Twitter soon after but I didn't think this was reason enough to harass him whilst doing his shopping.

I saw Colin Turkington last year buying a sandwich and drink in Morrisons, Bracknell. I thought the same and didn't interrupt his tea. Turned out there had been an 'event' at BMW HQ. My wife simply said 'Colin who?' when I pointed him out.....
