Soft top itch...

Evening all 
I seem to have a really annoying itch I think needs scratching... I want a cheapo (~£700) soft top for a bit of summer fun, MX-5, MG TF etc but have nowhere to keep it, allocated parking outside the house and no more spaces. Ideally want something that I can tinker with/tidy up over the spring ready for the summer. Would be a 2nd car and most likely SORN for 6 months of the year.
I've seen ones that look tidy enough for roughly that money with some MOT on them and I'd buy one tomorrow if I had a large gravel drive
What are people's thoughts? Stupid idea or get one then worry about where to park it? Parents isn't an option as even though they are only a mile away they haven't got the space either
secretly sell the OHs car to free up a space and tell her she must have left it somewhere?

Get a convertible and a garage. I rent a garage for £90 a month. As others have said you can probably pay much less than this, but I wanted a garage I could see from my property/immediate access. I paid over the odds locally for that privilege
