Followed a 14 plate F-Type down a (good quality) country road today, being driven at a spectacular 35mph on an NSL road. Couldn't overtake due to twisty road and volume of traffic coming the other way. Did wonder if it was in limp mode or the driver was just a knob, but anyway ... when it got to the Fosse Way crossroads, it indicated right, but everything flashing on the back was red ... the "big" circular red light plus the slim ones just to the outside of it. No sign of amber at all. Fault, wrong colour glass, or am I missing something obvious?

Fosse indicates you were near Gaydon. It's highly possible that it's a US spec car.

Edit: it's also possible that they were going slow so you'd overtake, bugger off, letting them carry on testing.

No, I was up near the Leicester end of the Fosse, and I doubt whether this was a test car (it was filthy). I did wonder if it had been nicked and the driver was scared of it. They weren't reacting to me either, I saw them a long way away and caught them up. It was the "indicators" that intrigued me though.

Who knows. Red rear indicators means a non UK spec car.

US spec test car as said above. Probably going to/from MIRA.

Can you remember what the plate started with?

Yes, only about 5 miles from MIRA. I *think* the plate was something like FK14(something) ... pretty sure it started with an F.

F would be unusual.

Normally V or B.

Or O for press and staff cars.

I could be wrong with the plate (especially as it was utterly filthy). As you and Chris have said though, US spec car heading for MIRA makes sense. Thanks for confirming I wasn't imagining it!
