Anyone have one of these or any experience of them?
I keep wavering over quite WTF I want to do other than "something" to change from my Freelander 2 - can't get away from the fact that I quite like the "waft" factor that a large auto SUV gives.
I'm trying to work out model years and facelifts and it seems that other than the front grille facelift the current style has been the same since around 2010 - new model due?

Been passenger in a 13 plate (facelift - grill) one for around 3000 miles and driven one a few times. Very pleasant interior in the colour scheme of your first link, would definitely look to have that, which shouldn't be hard as they only offer a couple of set interior options. Rather refined though extremely removed from the driving experience. They seem to very much have a road set-up for suspension, they absorb bumps perfectly well and at motorway speeds are especially quiet and relaxed however on dodgy roads they don't soak up bumps anything like an L322 RR, though don't wallow as much in corners and are probably quieter on motorways.
CVT gearbox really suits the car I feel and you never really need more power than it has, if you do then its probably not the right car for you anyway.
Certainly the most removed I've felt from the road while in a car as far as I can think, the quality and solid feel of the fittings really help with this as there's not even a hope of a rattle or vibration developing.
I didn't like the brake setup though, incredibly sharp in the first 10-20% of pressure applied to the peddle, so make sure you've got your seat belt on when you first use the brake.
Haven't driven one enough or spent enough time in the competition (Q7. X5, XC90) to cast any other opinions.

Yes the dealers have been great as a couple of months back I went to a few to look at the CT-200H - loved the car but you know when there's "something" stopping you pulling the trigger.
Any downsides to the RX? Doing a spot of reading and it seems to be the same old Lexus story - won't break, won't set the world on fire, people won't hate you for driving one
