Coupe W124 with manual gearbox
Discussion
Hello, I would like to ask whether anyone know how rare is a manual w124 coupe with the 3.2 engine.
I think it's a pretty interesting combo and found one for sale but i find the ask price somewhat high and wonder if it's considered rare/classic.
Here is the car by the way

Does seem a bit pricey, here is a '93 car LHD in Germany, 142000km's at under €10.000 http://tinyurl.com/poya4w6 quite rare even in Germany, a few more 300CE's advertised on Mobile.de with manual boxes. The sportsline is a close ratio 5speeder so 5th is direct drive quicker rack smaller steering wheel and lower suspension are the standard, sports seats were an option. Full climate is heavy so would blunt the handling as the comppressor is just behind the headlight.
Manual 6-cylinder is pretty rare but perhaps undesirable as the period road tests I've read suggest it's not a very nice 'box, baulky and the drivetrains seem to have a lot of rubber in them making it difficult to drive smoothly.
In the UK at least, there are still lots of W124 coupes around and no sign of a rise in values yet. I imagine there might be buyer prejudice against manual cars as most of the Mercs sold here in the '80s/'90s had automatic gearboxes and as stated the manuals weren't regarded as very nice to use when the cars were tested when new.

How would it compare against a CL? I really like the styling of Mid-90s coupes. Never got around understanding the design during the Chrysler era. Never driven one though which could be a complete turn off.In the UK at least, there are still lots of W124 coupes around and no sign of a rise in values yet.
