ML63 2006-2009 any issues to worry about ?

I'm looking for an ML 63 with low mileage from 06 to 09 which I'm hoping will tick both boxes of 4x4 and an intoxicating 6.3V8.

I have looked at a few. One fresh car that is advertised has an inspection report which notes slight weeping on FNS Shock, and slight leak in steering rack.

Can any owners out there comment on whether these are common issues ?
Are they expensive to correct ?
Are there other issues that I should worry about ?
I happy to accept the fuel cost and overall running costs of an AMG, but don't want to unwittingly get any nasty surprises

Just a general point on those ml models ..My 320cdi had a lot of issues and was stupidly expensive when things went wrong

The general consensus is that ML63's from 59 plate onwards are the ones to look at and that 06 to 09 had too many problems. Obviously there are probably a few gems in the age range you are looking at but check everything and then get someone else to check everything again.

Mine has been great 07 plate 78k now owned for nearly 3 years. Mechanically sound, had an issue with corrosion on inside door welds but all 4 doors replaced by mb under warranty no quibbles, this is a common issue. Coming from an rs6 this thing is a revelation, even the fuel economy is 50% better than my old p38 overfinch with 6.3 sbc. Quick, comfortable, practical and can haul 3.5t up the slip it's an ideal family wagon.
