Anyone know how to fix a welder!?
Discussion
Hi all.
Had a faithful gas-less MIG for a few years now and it hasn't been used for a couple of years.
Went to fire it up for some welding on my bag of s
te Discovery and couldn't get a tune out of it.
It's a Clarke (Don't laugh!) MIG 90EN.
Checked the large fuse inside for continuity and it is fine.
Any help with the fault diagnosis greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance, Stuart.

Are you getting anything at all?
If you can get a small spark when touching the workpiece, but no arc being struck, the it could be a faulty primary coil.
If it's completely dead, and all fuses and breakers have been checked, then it sounds more serious
Not a bean. Won't even switch on!If you can get a small spark when touching the workpiece, but no arc being struck, the it could be a faulty primary coil.
