Aberdeen Porsche starting to panic?
Discussion
The collapse in oil price and subsequent collapse in oil and gas operational spending in the North Sea is resulting in thousands of high paid jobs and contractors being laid off.
Pure speculations but I would imagine the Porsche customers in Aberdeen will mostly be connected to energy production in some way or another.
Does this mean the best deals and most desperate salesmen will shortly be found to the North of Inverness?

I wouldn't get your hopes up any. There has been far harsher times in the oil industry and they have survived.
There hasn't been that many people made redundant. Many of them are offshore workers and many of them don't live local to Aberdeen.
Cars are too pricey in Aberdeen so hopefully they will come down to normal levels. I don't even see that happening.

I'm told you can drive from Aberdeen to (at least) Pisa without coming off a dual carriageway if that's your thing.
I know the guys (genuine enthusiasts) at Aberdeen OPC and am sure they would be genuinely helpful if you wanted to come up to collect.
lots of speed cameras on the way back from Aberdeen but its a nice easy drive
recently did an Aberdeen to Cardiff run in 8 hours including stopping for breakfast and lunch
oh and in regards to the industry up there, the only ones that seem to be suffering is the day rate contractors atm and its more a case of taking a hit on their day rate rather than loosing jobs just now. although that could quite quickly change

Day rates have dropped for some contractors by 25%. This might seem a lot but they were previously on £500+ per day so they're not on the breadline just yet. The salaries for engineers etc in the Aberdeen have been out of control for some time :- 23 year olds with 2 years experience earning £80-100k is common so an adjustment is not totally unwelcome in some areas. When oil was $100+ this wasn't an issue and Saudi were willing to close their taps and play the long game, this doesn't appear to be the case at the moment and there are plenty of theories why this is happening - hurting Russia being one of the most likely.
The new Porsche premises are owned by a friend of mine so I will find out soon enough if there are any issues.
