Waterproof socks

I've had 2 pairs of sealskinz and before long, say ~1year they cease to work, I admit now reading up drying them next to a radiator may have killed them but that's quite poor in itself as drying with no heat source would take ages. Does anyone recommend any other makes in particular? I see Gore Goretex socks and also Goretex military ones look good value?

I've had no experience with the Sealskinz, but I bought a pair of Dexshell waterproof socks from Aldi a few months ago for around a tenner and they're brilliant. Much better than overshoes in my opinion which never totally stopped the water finding it's way in. Feet are always bone dry even after a couple of hours despite my shoes being wringing wet through (Shimano M064's). I've never felt the need to dry them on the radiator as the inside of the socks are dry. So although putting them on still wet for the commute home just means my feet are a little bit cold for a few minutes till everything warms up.

buy two pairs of socks?

I always carry a spare set when I commute to work.

I've just given up on them and use winter boots with hiking/skiing socks.

I had Porelle drys and then Sealskin and have never been convinced of their waterproof-ness. Likewise my Sealskin gloves have never actually kept the water out.

And worse than that, the last pair I had, you had to be so careful pulling your hand out so that it didn't pull out the liner. Except one time I wasn't that careful and now I can't get my fingers in.
