Any experience of buying meat online?

Our local butcher has been a bit hit and miss on the quality of the beef so I'm tempted to order some in to try.

Any suggestions where to try?

Found the quality of beef, lamb etc at http://www.greenpasturefarms.co.uk to be really good, and reasonable delivery charges too.

Don't know how much you are looking to buy, but I bought my dad some of this online for his birthday, as a treat. Reports came back it was rather nice, Crippingly expensive Wagyu beef though you're not likely to be filling a chest freezer with it.

I've had some giant porterhouse steaks and an american style whole packer cut brisket from them previously, i would heartily recommend them.

I'll agree with the Donald Russell recommendation.
They usually advertise an introductory pack for £29 in various magazines/Radio Times/Sunday supplements

Never thought wagyu steaks look all that appetising. Luckily I can afford them anyway! Will definitely try them one day though.

I've just ordered with http://www.westingourmet.co.uk/ they come well recommended from a couple of friends.

Their special offers look good, I've ordered a couple of new customer boxes and a mixed box that was advertised on their Facebook page. I then got an email today for Rump steak which worked out at £8 per kilo for 21 day matured steak with free delivery - if only I'd had some freezer space left

I'm going to try Turner and George as well, their slow cooking meat looks lovely and Westin Gourmet don't have anything similar

I use Westin Gourmet, Muscle Foods and Laverstoke Park Farm (petrol head connection is it's owned by Jody Schekter).

Westin is great for everyday and something a little special (especially when they have an offer on - 16 prime quality steaks from around the world for 25 quid!).

Muscle Food is great for bulk packs of the basics.

Laverstoke Park Farm is for special occasions, but Blimey it's good...

I'm good mates with my butcher, but he recognises he just can't compete on price, quality or variety - unless I special order (which I do for BBQ meat - haven't found baby back ribs, Jacob's ladder or whole brisket online)...

Donald Russell steaks are great and their burgers are superb, however they're expensive unless you get them in one of their constant sales. Tried their haggis - one of the worst I've had though.
