First rule of young driver insurance is 'resist the temptation to modify'.As a rule, alloys make very little difference in 95% of cases, however, the other 5% is young drivers. Try to put up with it being boring for a few years and then go enjoy yourself!
I do unnderstand that! The lady from my insurance told me that my age has no matter into it?? Just don't think its fair that I just want to put alloys on, doesn't affect my performance and after reading online it should only effect it by 1%? But guessing it really is done to age! My cars worth 2500 on the insurance and they're asking close to
2000 for insuring it with alloys! Abit of a conn in my view but no a lot I can do' just sucks having to wait so long to be able to put alloys instead of wheel trims!

Look at the positives. You wont have to replace them by paying or claiming from your insurance if they get stolen.
The money you save now on them and your insurance, if you can afford to put it away and save it, will be money that you can put towards your eventual next car and or insurance.
I don't envy people like yourself with regards to owning a car. I personally wouldn't bother as it's so expensive these days. 16 years ago I paid 1200 to insure my first car - a 2 litre Sierra Sapphire when I was 18.
Chin up op, there's always a bright side!

Yeah your right! Just think it's abit steep! espically seeing as they say on the website it wouldn't make a difference and tell me personally that my age doesn't matter!
The fact is even if say they got stolen i pay 250 excess which is about the cost of them so it's not like they'd have to fork out! just annoying as iveen dying to put these alloys on but not if its gunna cost me 600 quid! Ice been phoning up to get a proper answer but nothinf so far!

Alloy wheels can increase the risk of theft - not just of the wheels but also the whole car - your insurance company seems to be thinking this way
.
Spotlights can have the same effect (40% loading on insurance for a Montego 1.6L was what I was told when I was 30, the basic premium was £270)...
As per posters above, it makes financial sense for you to keep your car standard at this stage of your driving career.
