Just announced the new mustang with the 310hp 2.3 four pot is going to be 28995, standard spec looks reasonable, even looks good in the flat red paint.

tempting!!

V8 is only 33k. That is a surprise too. V8 Mustang or a Golf GTI... hmmm... smile

Let's see how they depreciate but, I'd quite fancy a 500hp variant if the rest of the package handles like it goes. The cheapest way into a new performance V8?

It'll be fascinating to see how they sell. The V8 Mustang undercuts the four-pot 428i let alone the 435i and M4, but will the badge and/or lack of perceived quality put people off?

Too may people are badge snobs today. they should actually drive and live with the car not just think it looks good on the driveway or when saying ' oh yes I have a 3 series BMW or a Audi A5.

Never hurt VW sales nor Subaru back in the day.

I'd be tempted to look at the 500bhp version if it comes to the UK.

It's just a shame that rubbing sand in your own eyes is more fun than dealing with Ford dealers.

Look at the price of 9 year old ones, I think they'll hold their money very well indeed. Supply is restricted with dealers only getting a few cars each according to my local Ford branch.

Unfortunately the V8 weighs the best part of 1700kg.

Suspension is struts at the front and multilink at the rear.

No idea about the diff but it would be surprising if there wasn't some sort of LSD on the V8.

Fantastic stuff, everybody go out and buy V8 ones in red or yellow and in about 10 years time I'll buy one off you driving.

Bargain. The V8 is a bit small and underpowered though...

Or if you don't fancy those colours, buy that nice metallic dark blue that Ford do, and spec a sports exhaust please.

Are you listening?

Oh, and keep it well maintained and don't crash it, don't flick bogeys in the footwell and wash it every week.

Thanks!

Very good looking coupe. Probably the best looking coupe on the market to my eyes.
The 2.3 will go down perfectly in other European countries who are hit extremely hard anually for anything above 2500cc's.

Lighter than a M4 Cabriolet then....and with more power.

Yes but that's for the coupe Mustang.

Admittedly the cabrio is only about 70kg heavier so that compares well to the 4-series if you don't want a folding tin-top.

Coupe is no heavier than a C63 then which certainly gets down the road well. So, with a 500hp version it should be great fun.

Can we get a Corvette next?
