Hi chaps,
Car is due a service and the car is still under Aston dealer warranty. I'm based in North London but am willing to travel (a couple of hours even) to get the car to a good dealer

AM Works isn't that far from you if you jump on the M1. I had my last service done there and seemed to be good.

Grange Welwyn is not too far from you either. I've not used them but I've seen a few people on here rate them well.

For the OP, you may wish to know that Works will pick up the car in a covered lorry within 50 miles for free and some good rates outside of that. I looked at shipping my car from Bristol. You have the added bonus of a good look round.... something I must do!

I used Chiltern Aston when I had my V8. Great service and it looks as though Ed and Stuart are still there - both good guys.

I wouldn't bother with Am Works again, the workshops are very impressive but I haven't been impressed with the level of service. The pick-up in a truck is nice but you'll get your car back when they can get to you and don't expect updates on progress on your car. My local BMW dealer puts them to shame.

I plan to try Chiltern Aston, they are very local to me and I have heard good things about them so hopefully a better bet.

Grange in Brentwood give good service and are reasonably priced typically for an authorised agent with a dealership attached.

Stretton (nr Norwich) give at least as good service and are better priced. Authorised service but not dealer.

As an example the latter charge under £700 for this service. If you want the gearbox oil changed (recommended but not an 8yr service item) add another £100-£150. Pollen filters add a bit more (but still under £1k).

My last 80,000 mile service at Grange Welwyn came in at £740 including transmission oil and a brake fluid change.

An air-con service is an additional £162.

Thankyou for the prompt responses.
I supply the oil when I service my other cars, would they allow me to do so with Aston? It has made a significant saving in price when I've done so in the past and all I would need to do would be to pass Halfords on my way to drop the car off.
Also I wouldn't mind buying other parts in advance if anyone has other ideas.

There is usually a deal to be struck with a main dealer. Phone a couple and get prices - haggle to the point where you are both comfortable but do retain some 'class'! This is in line with the type of vehicle we drive imho and if you really want to bring costs down then go to an indie. I recently saved £370 on a main service just by asking my main dealer to match the price on offer by Aston Works. There are reasonable prices out there... and also some that are OTT. Many dealers will allow you to bring your own oil but don't forget you are now biting into his profit margin so expect less movement elsewhere.

What about the place in Tufnell Park - cannot think of the name?

Grange in Cambridge are ok but their paint shop is not good.

Grange Brentwood are good guys as well.

New official Aston Martin Dealer opening near Reading soon if that helps? I popped in a few months ago and it was looking good (admittedly a bit of a building site at the time!) Don't know when it is due to open exactly, but sure it should be very soon....

I take mine to Nicholas Mee near Hammersmith. I recommend them; they are cheaper than Stratstone, and you still get the Aston Martin stamp on your log book.
