Selling house in joint names

Hello,

My brother and I are joint owners of our family home after our Dad transferred the deeds into our name after he found out he was seriously ill. There is no mortgage left on the property and it's in Scotland.

My brother wants to buy me out as he's been living there for a number of years and I rent my own place. I am more than happy to do this but can anyone suggest the easiest way to do it?

We been advised by a high street Bank that I would have to transfer the deeds into his name before he can apply to remortgage the house but if he doesn't get one them then I don't my half.

We'll be going to see a mortgage adviser but I'm just not sure when.

All advise would be greatly appreciated.
