I have just placed the order for my new company car. I currently have a C Class and wanted the new model until I saw that afterthought of an infotainment screen so ended up going for a 5 series instead.

I had a call from Mercedes asking why I was moving away from them and not ordering a new C Class. The guy on the phone listened to me and my reason and could understand why one detail as 'in your face' as the screen is putting customers off. Then I've just read this.

Looks like it is a problem for many customers. So good on you Mercedes, you're listening.

Or could this just be a normal update?

Good news. Next they can tweak the nose propotions to remove all resemblence to the awful CLA. Then it would be near perfect, I reckon.

You've got to wonder how they came up with that screen design in the first place. I can't believe anyone thinks it looks good.

They might be listening but I still don't like these new oversized double screened dashes. They just look a bit hideous to me.

The S Class interior is epic except for the massively large screen dash.

I can accept the large sat nav screen but I prefer normal dials.

Hopefully BMW will do the same with the 3 and 4 series screen too as that's always looked stuck on.
