Before I head to the GP tomorrow morning (that's if I can get in), I thought I'd ask the collective if they have had any similar symptoms.

I go to bed at what I think is a reasonable time, around 11 ish most nights, and get up at 6am in the morning for work. Sometimes work starts later, lunch time, but I only ever really stay in bed until 8.30 at the latest then.

I have, for the past year or so gone in and out of feeling extremely tired during the day. I've always put it down to just working, and burning the candle at both ends. Usually I can feel like this for a few days or up to a week, then I'll be fine and not feel tired during the day for the next few weeks.

This past week and a half has been dreadful. I've gone to bed again, 11 ish and woken up around 9am (it's my week off work this week) and I've literally felt groggy and tired all day, no motivation to do anything. Along with this I have been feeling quite nauseated, especially after eating with the random sharp stomach pain after eating. This has seemed to have cleared up now, but I am left most days feeling a bit washed out and weak and shaky accompanied by slight head aches and a "fuzzy head" unable to concentrate properly. The weakness is what I would probably describe if you haven't eaten all day having been busy, so you feel a bit weak and shaky. When I eat, I generally feel a little bit better although symptoms don't disappear completely. I don't seem to be eating as much as what I usually do (which is good because I am overweight, which I want to shift) and I don't really fancy anything. I usually have a craving for one food or another.

What could be wrong with me? I am 28 years old and I shouldn't be feeling like this frown

Maybe you're waking up at the wrong time - if you have an iPhone, try an app called Sleep Cycle.

Also, try going to bed a bit earlier so you can at least be asleep by 11?

I felt like crap for months then discovered a dental infection that wasn't causing any pain, might be worth a trip to the dentist if you haven't been recently. As others have said, could be a huge number of issues.

A PT that I recently had a session with said that he suffered from low energy, tiredness etc. for a few months before he went to the docs. Turned out to be Vit D deficient.

As above, I had similar symptoms and was found to be very low in Vitamin D. Can't remember the results, but they put me on a massive dose for three months, and now I take a small daily dose (when I remember). Feel normal now, so I think that's what it was. They did so many other blood tests and found nothing else wrong.

Two different docs told me that half the population in this country is probably deficient to some extent in Vit D.

Only other thing that helped me in the past was cutting right back on caffeine. Three days of constant headache, but I felt better afterwards.

A brisk walk in the fresh air, and a pint of Guinness.
