As in night time, 'making progress' nice hairpin bend, dab of oppo, st! the road ahead has gone dark. I'm assuming the headlight direction is tied to the steering angle?

If you are referring to steerable headlights, the angle change is limited to only about 25 degrees max on my car.

In an oversteer situation like that, the nose of the car would be pointing towards the inside of the bend.

When applying corrective lock the front wheels would still be pointing in the direction of travel, so the lights would turn to match and still point down the road.

I think what you're actually worried about would be pressing on into a corner too quickly and suffering understeer. The lights would still be pointing with the wheels in the (intended) direction of travel, but you wouldn't be able to see what you were about to crash off the road into.

Which might not be a bad thing.

This. (Said in a way that I was struggling to put into words - or at least type).
