Coachy boy has gone and done it! 
Sheared of his stepper motor shaft right at the neck of the plenum! Nuts! (ooer, sounds a bit...)
So, anyone done this (nooo, surely no-one can be as daft as me) and how do I get the remainder out without major surger that I am clearly incapable of!
Secondly - where do I get a replacment?
Please dont tell me that the removal of the old is a dealer job - funds need to recover after christmas!!

Nowt left hanging, just the shaft tube of the stepper motero threaded into the plenum hole. It has sheared of flush with the hole so no purchase. Imagine if it came out it would look like a piece of threaded pipe on the outside!
I I magine even if I took off the plenum (worrying thought that) it wouldnt do any good unless it stick out the other side

There's a set of tools called 'easyouts'. Tapered bars of different diameters with a twisted spline down the tapers. The splines are twisted so that they tighten up anticlockwise. These do what it says on the tin. Find the one that fits the hole and screw it in anticlockwise. As it tightens up it will grip the broken part and drive it anticlockwise, i.e. out of the plenum. You'll need to find and remove the broken valve plug that will have fallen inside the chamber.

Oooohhhhh thank you! Off to the motor tools place tomorrow then!
As for the stepper motor itself, is there an equivalent part? Or is it a dealer order. I cant seem to fard the Chimaera parts list where it used to be?

just had a quick browse of the parts list...and spotted somthing. it states the early steering racks were range rover!!!! now that cant be right as the range rover has a blinking great steering box and a drop link rather than a rack...
Other than that all looks good
