Is there a directory sevice that gives a name and address from the phone no?
I am buying a car from a dealer who I am not quite 100% sure about - it would be useful to be able to check him out....
Thanks

I tried that a while ago from a strange number on my phone. There are but I think you have to pay.

You used to be able to call 100 and ask the operator to confirm the details for you. Clearly they wouldn't tell you what they had on file but would give a yes or no to indicate if you had a match. This was 8+ years ago though, but worth a try as it won't cost anything.

If you want to email me the dealers details I MAY be able to help, particularly if they're a limited company. It's a long shot, but hey I'm not doing anything since my telly has just blown up!

I think you can do it on 192.com but it's subscription based now. Most telemarketing outfits have a CD that you can do all manner of searches on, but I can't remember it's name.

Google it. You'd be surprised what turns up.
