Mercedes A200 (153hp petrol) v Peugeot 308 (THP 163hp)
Discussion
So, I've finally sold my sluggish 2011 SEAT Altea XL and now I'm in the market for small, fast hatch. After a through survey of the Egyptian car market, I have my eyes set on either Mercedes A200 (153hp petrol, DCT), or a Peugeot 308 (which is offered in Egypt with the larger 163hp petrol unit and a six-peed auto transmission from Aisin). I've test driven the Merc and absolutely loved it. However, the local Peugeot dealer won't let me test drive the Peugeot. The price difference is to the tune of 6,000 pounds (sterling), and therefore I must choose wisely.
The engine specs of the A200 are I assume known to all; as for the Peugeot unit, it has maximum power of 163hp @ 6,000 RPM and maximum torque of 240Nm @ 1,400 RPM (engine code is EP6FDT M). Should I expect performance similar to the A200?
Cheers!
